Bio - Mark Dixon

My photographic career has been varied, to put it mildly. Ever since putting my photographic interests to work on my high school yearbook (way back in the last century), I've sought to take my work to a higher level.

The name 'BongoPhoto' combines my two creative aspects, Photography & Music. I've been a percussionist as long as I've been looking through the lens.

I’ve worked as a media photographer for Montana State University, photographed and written a how-to book for Taunton Press (‘Housepainting Inside & Out’), along with a companion piece for Taunton’s Fine Homebuilding. I also photographed a book on Montana powwows (‘Magic of the Drums’), published by Nymphenburger Press in Munich. While living in Montana I also worked as an aerial photographer ('Picture Montana'), and contributed freelance work to  local newspaper and advertising publications.

My work includes architecture, weddings, music concerts, musician & band photos, senior portraits, CD covers, local business events & portraits, and cuisine. Also group, family, and baby photos.

Rounding out the work list are: Location, Artists’ portfolios, Black & White, Fine art, Stock, Travel,  Journalistic, and Advertising.

I welcome local and travel assignments for business or personal requests. Contact me at bongohoto@gmail.com to inquire about availability & rates. I'm happy to provide a complete list of clientele upon request.
